The Shopoff Group is a sponsor of Aids/LifeCycle and
had a team of seven riders complete the 2009 event.
The Shopoff Group has a history of service and giving back to the communities in which we work and live. We seek to be personally involved, volunteering our time and knowledge in addition to contributing funds.
Our community service focus is centered on health, education, the environment, and political issues. A few of the causes in which we have recently been involved include:
Aids/LifeCycle - This 7-day, 550-mile bike ride raises funds to combat the HIV/Aids pandemic. Over the past 7 years, The Shopoff Group has been a lead contributor, raising more than $700,000, and is a presenting sponsor of the event. La Casa de la Neva Vida - Through his volunteer teaching of real estate principles at Maui Mastemind events, William Shopoff became involved in this Juarez, Mexico orphanage, where he has joined with others to delight the children by personally delivering presents at Christmas.
Education - Backing their belief in the value of education, The Shopoff Group has been proud to be a sponsor of events for Laguna Beach SchoolPower and is a contributor to the Laguna College of Arts and Design.
Community Involvement - We are pleased to participate in projects that have significance to the residents in communities where we live and conduct business. Recently we contributed $475,000 to help fund the Victoria Avenue restoration project in Riverside, CA. and $25,000 to the Riverside Symphony Orchestra. We have also
provided funding for the Brea Museum and the Brea Boys and Girls Club. William Shopoff is a Trustee for the Friendship Shelter, whose mission is to assist homeless adults regain self-sufficiency and help them become more productive members of the community.
Political Issues/Candidates - We host a number of political fund-raisers for state and local officials and candidates for public office, and contribute funds to support the candidates and causes that we believe will make our communities better places to work, live and raise our families.
