Steve Shopoff oversees corporate communications and public relations for Shopoff Securities. He coordinates the raising of all capital for Shopoff Properties Trust through Shopoff Securities and ia a principal point of contact for investors. He supports and implements the Executive Directors’ vision for the company by communicating key messages to current and prospective investors through in-person, telephonic, and electronic communications. He also coordinates all webcast activities and special events and will coordinate annual reporting to investors for Shopoff Properties Trust.
Steve’s expertise in the strategies, operations and investment philosophies of Shopoff Securities is a valuable asset to existing and potential investors. He has more than 20 years of investment experience with The Shopoff Group and its predecessors, having participated in more than 35 real estate limited partnership investments. Steve has worked closely with William Shopoff on a variety of personal investments and financial planning vehicles. He has researched and authored articles on financial planning and investment strategies, and is currently co-authoring a book with William Shopoff on investing with tax-advantaged accounts. He holds FINRA Series 22, 62 and 63 securities licenses.
Steve has an extensive background in personal financial planning and investments. He served as trustee of the Sonburn, Inc. 401(k) plan for more than 15 years, and has performed in a third-party investment advisory capacity for a number of individuals over that time period. Steve has attended IRA seminars and personally conducted informational seminars on IRAs and other retirement vehicles.
In addition, Steve has a strong background in finance, communications, marketing and general management and has held executive-level positions with several leading publicly and privately held consumer products companies. He has played key roles in developing new products, identifying key business opportunities, and analyzing corporate acquisitions. He has built an impressive track record of communicating new products and services to clients, investors, and financial professionals.
Steve earned a Master of Business Administration degree from Indiana University and a Bachelor of Business Administration degree from The University of Texas, Austin. He was a member of the track and cross country teams at The University of Texas, and as a life-long distance runner has completed more than 60 marathons and 75 ultra-marathons. He is a former Director of the Dallas White Rock Marathon, is a Contributing Member of The Yosemite Fund, and a Member of the Dallas Arboretum.
